PhiContour After Care

The PhiContour treatment is a semi-permanent method for enhancing lips, eyelids, and eyebrows. To ensure that the results are long-lasting and even, proper aftercare following the treatment is crucial. This process not only helps to maintain the pigmentation optimally but also minimizes the risk of infections or complications.

1. Immediately After the Treatment

  • Redness and Swelling: Immediately after the PhiContour treatment, the treated area may be slightly red or swollen. This is a normal reaction and usually subsides within 24 to 48 hours.
  • Lymph Exudation: There may be slight lymph exudation that should be gently removed with a clean cloth or cotton pad.

2. Cleansing and Care

  • Clean Hands: Always wash your hands before touching the treated area to avoid infections.
  • Avoid Water: For the first 24 hours after the treatment, avoid contact with water on the treated area.
  • Cleansing: After 24 hours, gently clean the treated area with a cotton pad moistened with sterile water or a mild cleansing solution.
  • Care Cream: Use the care cream recommended by your practitioner to soothe and protect the skin. These creams often contain ingredients that moisturize the skin and support the healing process.

3. Crusting

  • No Scratching or Rubbing: It is normal for small crusts to form on the skin after the PhiContour treatment. These crusts should not be scratched or touched, as this can lead to pigment loss or scarring.
  • Natural Healing Process: Allow the crusts to fall off on their own, which usually takes about 5–10 days.

4. Avoid Moisture and Heat

  • No Saunas or Steam Baths: For at least 7–10 days, avoid hot showers, steam baths, saunas, or swimming, as moisture can soften the crusts and disrupt the healing process.
  • Avoid Excessive Heat: Also, avoid activities that cause excessive sweating, as sweat can irritate the treated areas.

5. Sun Protection

  • Sunscreen: The treated areas are particularly sensitive to UV rays in the first few weeks. Avoid direct sun exposure and apply a sunscreen with a high SPF (50) after healing.
  • Avoid Sunbathing and Tanning Beds: For at least 4–6 weeks, avoid sunbathing or tanning beds to prevent pigmentation issues.

6. Avoid Cosmetics

  • No Makeup: For the first 7–10 days after the treatment, avoid makeup on the treated areas. Makeup can interfere with healing and increase the risk of infection.
  • No Harsh Products: Avoid harsh skincare products such as exfoliants, retinol, vitamin C, or AHA/BHA acids until the skin is fully healed.

7. Sleeping Position

  • Sleep on Your Back: Try to sleep on your back in the first few days to avoid pressure and friction on the treated area.

8. Healing Process and Touch-Up

  • Color Stabilization: Immediately after the treatment, the color will be more intense and will fade to the desired level over the next days to weeks. The healing process can take 4–6 weeks for the final result to be visible.
  • Touch-Up: A touch-up session may be necessary after 4–8 weeks to optimize the result and ensure that the pigmentation is even and long-lasting.

  • Herpes Prevention for PhiContour Permanent Makeup Treatments In PhiContour treatments, such as lip permanent makeup, there is a risk that the procedure may trigger a herpes outbreak, especially if you have had herpes (Herpes Simplex Virus) in the past. Since the procedure irritates the skin around the lips, it may predispose to a herpes outbreak.
  • Important Information on Herpes Prevention:

    1. Preventive Measures:
      • It is highly recommended to take antiviral medications (such as Aciclovir) before the treatment to prevent a herpes outbreak.
      • This medication should be taken in consultation with a doctor, typically starting about 3 days before the permanent makeup treatment.
    2. What to Do if Herpes Occurs:
      • If a herpes outbreak occurs after the treatment, it could negatively affect the result. The pigments may be unevenly embedded in the skin, possibly requiring a touch-up.
    3. Consultation Before Treatment:
      • It is important to inform your practitioner at Koralle Beauty Berlin about any susceptibility to herpes before the PhiContour lip treatment so that appropriate precautions can be taken.

Proper prevention can minimize the risk of a herpes outbreak and help achieve the best possible result from your permanent makeup treatment.
