PhiRemoval After Care
The PhiRemoval treatment is used to remove unwanted permanent makeup (PMU) or tattoos. As a non-invasive but intensive procedure, proper aftercare is crucial to promote healing and achieve optimal results.
1. Immediately After the Treatment
Redness and Swelling: After the PhiRemoval treatment, the treated area may be red and slightly swollen. These symptoms are normal and typically subside within a few hours to a few days.
Crusting: In the first 24 to 48 hours after the treatment, a layer of crust or scabs may form. This is a natural part of the healing process and indicates that the skin is beginning to regenerate.
2. Cleaning and Care
Wash Hands: Before touching the treated area, thoroughly wash your hands to avoid infections.
Gentle Cleaning: After 24 hours, the treated skin can be gently cleaned with sterile water. Use a clean, soft cloth or cotton pad. Avoid rubbing vigorously.
Care Products: Apply only the care cream or lotion recommended by your practitioner. These products help to soothe the skin, reduce inflammation, and speed up the healing process.
3. Crusting and Healing
No Scratching or Removal of Crusts: Allow the crusts to fall off on their own. Scratching or removing the crusts can lead to scarring and pigment loss.
Natural Healing Process: The scabs will fall off on their own within 5–10 days. This is a normal part of healing and indicates that the skin is regenerating.
4. Protection from Moisture
Keep Dry: Keep the treated skin dry and avoid showers or baths where the treated area may come into contact with water for at least 7 days.
Avoid Swimming and Saunas: Avoid swimming pools, saunas, or steam baths for at least 10 days after the treatment to prevent disturbing the crusting and to minimize the risk of infection.
5. Sun Protection
Avoid Direct Sunlight: The treated areas are sensitive and should be protected from direct sunlight for at least 4 weeks.
Use Sunscreen: Once the crusts have fallen off, apply a high SPF sunscreen (SPF 50) to avoid pigment changes and sun damage.
6. Avoid Makeup and Aggressive Products
No Makeup: Avoid applying makeup or other cosmetics to the treated area until the skin is fully healed, which usually takes about 10–14 days.
No Aggressive Products: Refrain from using aggressive skincare products like peels, retinol, or chemical acids, as they can impair the healing process.
7. Exercise and Intensive Activities
No Sweating: Avoid physical activities that cause excessive sweating, such as intense exercise or hot yoga. Sweat can irritate the treated area and affect the healing process.
8. Healing Process and Follow-Up Treatments
Full Healing: The healing process typically takes 4 to 6 weeks. During this time, the skin may initially appear lighter or uneven. The skin color will even out after healing.
Follow-Up Treatments: Depending on the depth and intensity of the pigment to be removed, multiple PhiRemoval sessions may be necessary. The next treatment can usually be scheduled after 6 to 8 weeks.
9. Possible Side Effects
Redness and Mild Swelling: These symptoms are normal and should subside after a few days. If persistent redness, swelling, or signs of infection (such as pus or severe pain) occur, contact your practitioner immediately.
